Types of Lotions
Maximizer – Helps to boost the natural tanning process by increasing Melanin production in the skin. Formulas include a variety of proprietary blends including Tantalize, Hyperdark and Colorburst Technology which contain Tyrosine and natural tan enhancers to help achieve darker color. Maximizers are perfect for beginner tanners or tanners who are wanting to achieve natural looking color without the use of Bronzers.
Natural Bronzer – Enhances the skin’s natural tanning process by utilizing natural bronzing ingredients (without DHA) that even out skin tone and add streak free color. Natural bronzers incorporate ingredients like Caramel, Henna and Black Walnut Shell Extract. Ideal for beginners or anyone avoiding DHA.
Bronzer – Uses DHA and natural bronzers for a richer, longer-lasting tan that continues to develop after UV exposure. Best for those with a base tan or darker complexions. Apply to exfoliated skin and wash hands after use to prevent staining.
Tingle/Hot – Intensifies tanning by stimulating microcirculation, causing redness and a tingling sensation. Recommended for experienced tanners only. Do not use on the face or sensitive skin. Test first, and avoid contact with children afterward.
Cooling – Produces a cooling effect that offsets the heat during tanning. Avoid eyes or sensitive areas after applying.
Facial Products – Using a face-specific tanning lotion is crucial because facial skin is more sensitive, delicate, and prone to irritation, requiring a gentler formula that also addresses hydration and anti-aging needs, ensuring a natural-looking, even tan without damage or dryness. The faster fading of facial tans is primarily due to the skin’s thinner nature, increased exposure to environmental factors, frequent skin cell shedding, and regular washing or skincare routines, which accelerate exfoliation and tan loss. Therefore, choosing a specially formulated product helps maintain the tan longer by catering to the face’s unique needs!.
Leg Products – Using a leg-specific indoor tanning product is essential because the skin on your legs is thicker, less sensitive, and has fewer melanocytes, which slows melanin production and results in a less intense, longer-lasting tan; these specialized formulations address these challenges by promoting deeper penetration, moisture retention, and sometimes including hair growth inhibitors, ensuring a more even and effective tan tailored to the unique needs of the legs.
Tattoo Protection – To protect tattoos during indoor tanning, ask us for lotions specifically formulated with tattoo protection and color fade inhibitors. These lotions often contain ingredients like antioxidants, moisturizers, and uv-absorbing compounds that help shield the ink from damage. Additionally, consider using a tattoo protection stick designed for tanning beds.
Self Tanner – Delivers a golden glow without UV exposure using DHA and Erythrulose. Color develops in 3–4 hours and lasts several days. Ideal for maintaining a tan between visits or for instant color.
Why Use a Lotion
The use of lotions is an absolute necessity when tanning indoors. There are many benefits to using a lotion which plays a vital role in the outcome of your tanning result. Using a lotion while tanning helps keep the skin moisturized which leads to better magnification for maximum tanning results. Without the use of lotion, skin is dry and deflects UV light. Moisturized skin will absorb the UV light, helping to influence the tanning process for a faster, deeper, darker tan.
